SustAI CDT

The UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in AI for Sustainability (SustAI) is a multidisciplinary and inclusive doctoral training programme at the University of Southampton.

The CDT will provide 70 fully funded PhD studentships over 5 cohorts.

The SustAI CDT will equip students with state-of-the-art AI technical skills and a deep understanding of how these skills can be applied to address pressing environmental challenges. SustAI is a £15M investment towards building AI methods for a more sustainable UK.  

With the SustAI CDT, we aim to nurture the next generation of researchers, engineers and technologists, who will be trained to develop and deliver a more environmentally sustainable future using AI to the benefit of society as a whole.

Training

Students on the SustAI CDT will benefit from Southampton’s world-leading research in AI, as well as its reputation for achieving real-world impact on sustainability.
